The Phantom of the Opera
The highly successful production of „The Phantom of the Opera“ by A. Gerber and P. Wilhelm is presented by Central Musical Company. Even though the production has been on tour in Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland for over 15 years now the enthusiasm of the audiences for it is still unbroken.
The Phantom of the Opera, one of the most popular and successful musicals of all time after the bestselling novel of the same name by Gaston Leroux about the tragedy of the man behind the mask, takes the audience to the Parisian Opera of the 19th century.
It tells the story of a grim being, the Phantom, bringing fear and mayhem to the Parisian Opera through the use of extortion and violence. Feeling misunderstood and desperate the deformed Phantom courts the Singer Christine Daaé and abducts her into his world – the Parisian Opera House, the grim catacombs under the Parisian Opera house, that is.
There have been numerous different interpretations of the original both on film and on stage, but none have been nearly as successful as the musical versions. The often performed story of the phantom can now be enjoyed in a modern interpretation of the original text - as a large scale musical in the German version by Paul Wilhelm. This evening with the phantom will surely be a night to remember.
Brilliant production of the musical classic The Phantom of the Opera.
The production combines charm, passion and humor and lets the audience enjoy a truly unique version of the play. The emphasis is on high notes and strong voices combined with soft ballet and a large orchestra. The 40-strong cast consisting of well-known soloists, singers, ballet dancers and musicians manages to wow the audiences with a strong performance of the over 100 year old story.
„The Phantom of the Opera“ – his destiny
His only true wish was to be like everybody else! But he was too grotesque! He was forced to either hide his brilliance or to use it for evil. Were it not for his disfigurement he would have surely been one of the greatest and most brilliant men in the world! The world should have been his stage and yet he had to settle for a cellar.
